Q&A for Ormond Beach Novels

Q: Are any of the characters from the Cedar Key series carried over to the new books?

A: Yes, in book one, Chloe Radcliff is the main character in Patterns Of Change. Other characters are mentioned in the first book to assist readers in the transition. But as new characters are developed in Ormond Beach, previous characters are no longer mentioned in books 2 and 3.

Q: Dreams appear to be a theme in Patterns Of Change. Is this theme continued in the following books?

A: Yes. Emmalyn was a previous resident of Koi House and was killed in a car accident in the 1960’s. However, her spirit seems to linger as she sends messages to the main characters via dreams.

Q: Which women’s issues do your stories focus on?

A: While I have a romance woven into my stories, my main focus is on relationships. Between mother/daughter, sisters, and girlfriends. Women’s identity, attempting to move forward in their lives and family are always major themes. Since I’m an avid knitter, knitting is also a theme, with an original pattern in the back of each book. I’m a huge animal lover, so I always have at least one dog and/or cat in my stories.

Q: Do your books need to be read in order?

A: No. Each one is a stand-alone novel. However, readers might find them more enjoyable if they’re read in order. But enough backstory is always given so that the reader isn’t confused.

Q: Who are the main characters in each of the Ormond Beach novels?

A: Chloe Radcliff in Patterns Of Change. Isabelle Wainwright, in Stitches In Time and Petra Garfield in Unraveling The Pieces. The reader is always introduced to an upcoming main character in the previous book.

Q: Is Ormond Beach a real town or is it fictional?

A: Yes. Ormond Beach is located on the east coast of Florida, just north of Daytona Beach. So most of the venues mentioned in my stories are real places.

“DuLong reminds me of a Southern Debbie Macomber but with a flair all her own.” --Karin Gillespie

New York Times bestselling author Terri DuLong spins a new skein of love, loss, and new beginnings in sunny Ormond Beach, Florida, where even the most painful past can become the most hopeful future…

Isabelle Wainwright is no stranger to heartache. She was just fifteen when her mother left her to be raised by her father so she could start a new life across the country. Rather than crumbling in despair, Isabelle eventually stitched together her own path, graduating from college and starting a family in Atlanta. But her hard-won fairytale ending is beginning to unravel…

The shock of her father’s sudden death is compounded when Isabelle’s husband leaves her and her daughter for someone else. Reeling from being abandoned yet again, she finds comfort in Chloe Radcliffe, her father’s girlfriend, who encourages her to move to Ormond Beach, Florida, and help her run her yarn shop. There, Isabelle may find the strength to confront her past, build new friendships, and perhaps even learn to love in a way she never thought possible…

Stitches in Time by Terri Dulong
Have loved this series and the one prior. Love how the author brings you up to date but doesn't spend 3/4 of the book doing so as other authors.
Love the area, how it's described and know I'd fall right into place with the surroundings and people. It's such an easy going place and atmosphere.
This book starts out with Isabella and her teen daughter are heading to Ormond Beach to live since her careless cigarette back in Atlanta burned the house.
She stops off to visit with her long time friend for short time. She's concerned about her daughter, Haley as she exercises a lot and hardly eats. Her and Petra also discuss her mom Iris and their loss bond and the death of her father and the divorce of her husband. It's just been too much.
Like Brothers and Sisters and Parenthood the reason I like this series is because of the different ages of the characters and the different problems they are facing. Mix that in with yarn and tea and I've arrived at Paradise.
While they are staying at Koi House with Chloe, Isabelle's fathers girlfriend til he died, they are surrounded by many who care for them. Isabelle starts right in with a job delivering to the locals, teas and coffees along with home made muffins daily.
She finds herself at peace and satisfied as she knits and listens to music. Mystery surrounding the divorce and we learn of the details during the book and she has to explain it all to Haley...and her mother has a mystery to share with her also.
Loved learning about the sea turtles and the time she is able to spend with her new boyfriend, Chadwick. Mystery of the sisters death and her spirit that lingers fascinates me as she helps Isabelle to make choices.
SO interesting how things turn out, for everybody involved.
I received this book from The Kennsington Books in exchange for my honest review
