Edward Abramson, Ph.D. is a professor of psychology at California State University, Chico and has maintained a practice of clinical psychology for more than 25 years. The former director of a hospital based outpatient eating disorders program, Dr. Abramson is the author of more than 25 scientific articles and chapters.

Dr. Abramson's book, Emotional Eating: A Practical Guide to Taking Control was a Book-of-the Month Club alternate selection and has been translated into three languages. He has been featured on television programs including 20/20 and Hard Copy, and has been quoted in publications including The New York Times, Reader's Digest, Good Housekeeping, and Self.

Dr. Abramson conducts workshops for health professionals and has lectured widely throughout the U.S. and in England, France, Scotland and Israel. He has two grown children and enjoys spending time with his wife, Crystal, at their retreat in Bodega Bay, California.
