Get to Know Diana from A DUKE FOR DIANA

Q: Describe yourself in five words.

A: Fashionist, passionate, entrepreneur, loyal, creative

Q: Of what are you most afraid?

A: Failing Elegant Occasions (my business arranging parties, balls, etc., for the ton)

Q: What’s your biggest regret?

A: Not recognizing my ability to run a business earlier in life.

Q: What’s your biggest dream?

A: To become such a good artist that one of my works is displayed at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Q: What’s your favorite dish in A Duke for Diana?

A: Cheddar tartlets.

Q: What do you want readers to know about your book?

A: It’s a light read with a few darker elements and lots of humor.

Q: Pick one song that describes you best.

A: Killer Queen. I do love Moet de Chandon, and I am indeed “well-versed in etiquette” and “extraordinarily wise.” LOL!

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?

A: Never lose a chance to expand your horizons.

Q: Last song you listened to?

A: “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea

Q: Name your celebrity crush.

A: In this century or a previous one? In my time, it was Sir Thomas Lawrence. What a masterful portrait painter! In this time? Probably Channing Tatum. I do like beefy men. And he even played a man named ‘Duke’ once!

Q: Who do you love most?

A: My husband, Geoffrey, of course. He may be a duke, but he has the heart of a lover. And who doesn’t like that?

Q: What is your most-used emoji?

A: 🤨

Q: Name an event that changed your life.

A: The time my mother ran off with her lover, and my father chose to put the entire family through the scandal of a divorce. Neither of them even bothered to wait until we’d had our debuts! That’s why we had to start our own business. It was either that or live with our dictatorial father for the rest of our lives.

Q: Place you most want to travel?

A: I wouldn’t mind visiting Italy. All that gorgeous art!

Q: On a scale of one to ten, how good are you when it comes to keeping secrets?

A: A 10, I assure you.

Q: If you had to give yourself a nickname, what would you choose?

A: Diana. I am not one for nicknames, although some call me the Queen of Fashion.

Q: If someone were to play you in a movie, who would you want it to be?

A: Molly C. Quinn. All right, so her eyes are blue and she’s not as tall as I am, but she has perfect red hair, and she’s gorgeous. Besides, one of my celebrity crushes is her co-star Nathan Fillion (shh, don’t tell Geoffrey).

Q: Fill in the blank: “There’s nothing I love more than… butter.”

Q: What is your Hogwarts house?

A: I have no idea. What’s a hogwart?

Q: What’s your life’s motto?

A: No matter what you do, people will talk. You just have to take your life in your own hands and find a way around them.

Q: Share your favorite quote.

A: “I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it.”—Alexander McQueen [contemporary quote]

“Fashion is only the attempt to realize art in living forms and social intercourse.” —Francis Bacon [historical quote]

Q: Name three things that inspire you.

A: Nature, art, and a good cup of tea

Q: Name someone that inspires you.

A: My older sister Eliza. She lives life on her own terms, even in the face of hardship.

Q: You can only read one genre for the rest of your life. Which do you choose?

A: Romance, of course. I do so enjoy Jane Austen.

Q: What is the bravest thing you ever did?

A: Ignoring society to open Elegant Occasions.

Q: Do you believe in love at first sight?

A: Absolutely. Anyone who doesn’t has forgotten what it was like to be young.
