About Stobie Piel:

Stobie Piel has been asked about her name a lot. It's her real name and it's definitely weird. Stobie is a Scottish surname and Piel is German. Her father's family comes from somewhere outside Dusseldorf. When Stobie was little she wanted to be Stevie Nicks. But she couldn't sing and she didn't have long, curly, blonde hair. But now she's older and she still wants to be Stevie Nicks.she has the long, curly hair, but she still can't sing, so she makes up for it by dressing like her and emulating her entire existence.

Stobie started writing in 1993, two years before the publication of her first book, Rebel Wind. Her stories have taken her through the American Civil war, twice, on both sides, to the distant age of Saxon England. She's traveled through time and landed smack in the Apache Territory, Arizona, then sped to distant galaxies. She's met wee faeries, a Saxon King. She's even discovered the heretofore unknown species: the Lingbat. The commen theme is Romance, with a lot adventure, comedy, and passion along the way. Her novels include Rebel Wind, A Brighter Dawn, Flights of Angels, and A Patriot's Heart. She is also featured in two anthologies, Scottish Magic and Affairs of the Heart.

tobie is a single mother and has three children, Garrett, Sophia, and Natassja. She lives in Maine in a tiny house near the beach, with lions guarding her front door. She plans to put a frog pond in her backyard someday because, as she says "faeries like ponds. I feel certain of this, so don't ask." In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, especially The Last of the Mohicans and You've Got Mail, and watching her favorite heroine on TV, Xena: Warrior Princess.
