Unconventional Brides by K.M. Jackson

Those that know me know me and my writing know that I have an intense love for love, but what may be an oddity for a romance author, I’m not all that much of a romantic, at least not in the traditional sense.

I have a huge fondness for all the quirks and mishaps that happen on the way to finding one’s true love and seeing the joy in the everyday humor of life. I also have a deep appreciation for complicated heroes and what some may call, “prickly” heroines that tend to thumb their noses at hearts, flowers and waiting on prince charming to whisk them away on his massive steed. Ahem, I’ll just leave that right there.

Something else that’s pretty well known about me is my near obsession with pop culture and television. Over years, many of them growing up in New York as a latchkey kid, I found endless solace in daytime and nighttime dramas and sitcoms and still do in today’s television shows and non-stop internet news. That said, it was both television and the internet which gave me quite a bit of inspiration for my new Unconventional Brides Series.

In my first story, INSERT GROOM HERE, Eva Ward, a straight laced, PR fixer and image maker has her life turned upside down when she’s jilted by her fiancé on live morning TV. Things quickly escalate when the normally perfectly polished Eva loses it and shows her true feelings in a rage while the cameras are still rolling, declaring that she will still get married no matter if her intended is the groom or not. Oh dear.

Of course this leaves Eva in quite a predicament and now she’d forced to live up to her declaration of finding said groom, this time with cameras rolling, all under the direction of sexy studio exec and all around thorn in Eva’s side, Aidan Walker. I can’t wait for you all to meet Eva and Aidan and watch how the sparks fly between the two of them.

Next, intrigued by an article I read about a women who threw a wedding where she married herself, INSERT GROOM HERE is followed up by TO ME I WED the story of successful event planner, Lily Perry who is happy with her life and tired of being asked when she’s walking down the aisle. Being a Bridesmaid is just fine by her thankyouverymuch.

So in order to still wagging tongues Lily decides to throw a wedding, sans groom, celebrating her life and love of herself which baffles restaurateur and chef, Vincent Caro to no end. Vin can’t understand why a woman like Lily would ever want to do such a thing as say no to marriage especially since they share a mutual attraction for each other and a history of some hot and heavy dalliances.

Lastly, in THE BETTING VOW we come along as, friend of both Aidan and Vincent, Carter Bain’s life is sent into a tail spin when he’s challenged to pull out all the stops to get smoking out model turned actress, Leila Darling, to sign on the dotted line to appear in one of his upcoming television pilots. But is the cost of getting married to a virtual stranger and being forced to stay married for six months to high a price to pay for both Carter and Leila? It may be when real feelings start to come into play.

I hope readers enjoy getting to know the heroines and heroes of the Unconventional Brides Series as much as I enjoyed writing them. They all share a special place in my heart.

“Guarantee to delight.” —Farrah Rochon, USA Today bestselling author
