Q: What do you need to create the perfect writing environment?

A: In addition to a reliable computer, I need complete solitude, quick access to Google, some snacks, and my daily notes.

Q: Describe the main character of Mrs. Wiggins in 5 words.

A: Christian, likeable, desperate, compassionate, homicidal.

Q: Name 3 things that inspired Mrs. Wiggins.

A: My connection to small southern towns, firsthand experiences, and what readers want from me.

Q: What astrological sign is Maggie Wiggins?

A: Capricorn.

Q: You’re at a local coffee shop. What’s your go-to drink order?

A: A large regular coffee, no sugar and only a few drops of Half and Half.

Q: What are you currently reading?

A: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I love books set in the South, no matter what time period.  I’m really enjoying it and I plan to see the movie soon.

Q: If you could switch places with any character in Mrs. Wiggins, who would it be?

A: Maggie’s benevolent employer, Mrs. Dowler.  She is very rich, independent, generous, and the most well-respected white woman in town.

Q: What’s your favorite recipe in Mrs. Wiggins?

A: Maggie’s scrumptious pig ears.

Q: If you could grab dinner with any character from Mrs. Wiggins, who would it be?

A: Randolph Webb, the unsuspecting man Maggie dupes into getting her pregnant.  He is the most charming man in the book.
