Beef Braised In Beer In The Crock Pot with Michaela H.

Just as tasty as the Carbonnades a la Flammande in the Julia Child cookbook, and a lot less work!


Throw into the Crock Pot the following:

1 – 1.5 lbs beef chunks
1 big onion, chopped
1 bottle of cheap beer
Dash of salt, pepper
Optional: you can add a package of onion soup mix but it’s tasty even without this

Set Crock Pot on low. Go to work. Get hungry.


Enjoy the beefy aroma while you prepare noodles or rice and something green (salad or vegs) as a side dish.

To thicken the broth, put 2 TBS of flour into a dish. Add about ½ cup of water while stirring briskly with a fork. Still stirring, dump this mixture into the Crock Pot and stir it in. Let it simmer while you fix your side dishes. Think positively. It will thicken if you believe. Toast the feast with a better bottle of beer
