PLAID TIDINGS by Mia Marlowe is a fantastic Scottish Historical Romance set in 1821 Scotland. #1 in "The Spirit of the Highlands" and what a beginning! I absolutely loved this story! The chemistry between Lord Alexander Mallory and Lucinda MacOwen jumps off the page. Lord Mallory won Lucinda's beloved Scottish estate, Bonniebroch, in a card game and of course he is the most unlikely laird. The estate comes with what else... a curse, a betrothal, and of course a most unlikely fiery red-headed virgin. Let the games begin.....
By Twelfth Night, he must break the Scottish curse that comes with the estate, of course he is attracted to Lucinda, and most seduce her oh yes, she must fall in love with him to break the curse of her own free will. Which she is deeply attracted to Mallory also. Filled with passion, a bit of danger, lots of laughter, a ghost,a curse and what else but in true Marlowe fashion a hero who is strong, determined, sexy and a Highlander in every sense of the word. Of course, her heroine, Lucinda, is fiery, feisty, a virgin, and strong-willed herself. Christmas in the Highlands is always festive, mystic, and passion filled! Fast paced and full of adventures. I love Ms. Marlowe's stories, she knows how to draw her readers into the story and hold them there. I can't wait for the next installment. Another must read! Received for an honest review from the publisher.
