ANGEL IN CHAINS
(Friday, May 10, 2013)
ANGEL IN CHAINS by Cynthia Eden is an exciting Paranormal Romance set in New Orleans. #3 in "The Fallen" series, but can be read as a stand alone, with re-appearing characters. See,"Angel in Darkness",and "Angel Betrayed". Another amazing story by this author. Follow,Azrael,Angel of Death and Jade Pierce,on a journey of danger, and fate. Filled with danger, angels, shapeshifters, survival, passion,a powerful witch, the Angel of Death, evil forces, choices,a prophecy, and seduction. As usual Ms. Eden has written a story for the ages with powerful characters, and an intriguing plot. As "The Fallen" series continues,it just grows better and better with each new book. "Angel in Chains" is Azrael's story. The big question is rather Azrael can keep Jade from her ex boyfriend clutches and keep her safe without destroying himself in the process. Ms. Eden is a talented storyteller. Paranormal readers as well as romance readers will not be disappointed.A powerful, sexy, dark, paranormal with a few twists. If you have not read "The Fallen"series pick up a copy I would suggest you do, you will not be disappointed. Received for an honest review from the publisher.

I was really excited waiting for this third installment of Cynthia Eden's The Fallen series. Why? Because we'd caught many glimpses of Azrael in the first two books and he was, literally, THE hotter than HOT Angel of Death, the leader of the Death Angels. He had attitude, even though angels aren't supposed to feel emotion, he had ISSUES galore and he just screamed alpha bad-ass male!
With that said, I was NOT disappointed by Az's story in Angel in Chains. He and Jade were both using each other at the beginning and the falling for each other happened gradually. The Other supernaturals that they battled were wicked, intense and the SEX was just what you expect from a Cynthia Eden book - HAWT!
If you haven't read this series - get on it. You won't be disappointed.
Now, author - please say there will be a fourth???
Must Buy Series!

I know I said yesterday that Angel Betrayed was my favorite in this series but this one is definitely a close, close second. Az was such an ass hole before he fell I wasn't sure he had hope of being anything else. I know my friend Taryn would like this guy. :) I don't know that he intends to come across as a jerk but he does a good job of it. lol One of my favorite things is that we get to revisit some of the other characters from the series. Jade is nothing less than a bad ass chick. She needs Az to help her but she holds her own as well. Strong female characters are always nice to read. I like a wallflower every now and then but I love my hard-core chicks. I can't wait for the next in the series. I don't know who it will be about yet (although I have an idea) but I know I will love it. This is a must read series. You won't waste your time or money on this one!
Another great Fallen story.

I just love Cynthia Eden’s Fallen Angels. They are so messed up but change so much in these stories. In this story we follow Azrael - a powerful Death Angel who struggles with one of his biggest temptations – Jade who is a human. She is everything he wants and feels. He does everything he can to claim her and to give into those temptations he feels. At the beginning of the story Az first meets Jade as three members of a powerful panther shifter pack have her cornered in an alley. He steps in to help her because it is the right thing to do. It turns out Jade is being hunted by a powerful hybrid panther shifter (Brandt) who is the alpha of this pack and will stop at nothing to get Jade back. Even if that means he will kill anyone in his path. From there Az is gets caught up in protecting Jade from Brandt and falls in love with her along the way (which he doesn’t realize until it is too late of course). We watch how love can make or break Azrael and how it changes his path to getting back into Heaven.
I had mixed feelings about Az in the first two Fallen books but he did start to grow on me in this one. He was just so messed up, broken, and sometimes confused so he wasn’t easy to get close to and I felt so bad for him. Jade helped him through this and I really liked how strong she was for him. She sure had a lot of spunk and was ready to take on the world if it meant she could save her friends from Brandt’s wrath.
As for other characters in the book, I found Sammael to be hilarious as usual and I think he is my favorite Fallen so far. Tanner and Cody were great additions and I hope Tanner and Marna have a story in the future.
Angel In Chains was a really great read. Cynthia is so good at winding together a great story with complicated characters who take an interesting path to get to the end. I think she does a very good job with the intimate scenes she writes and keeps them tasteful and very true to her characters and the story. I also enjoyed all the fast paced action and twists and turns she takes a reader on during this book. If you have read the other Fallen books (Angel of Darkness and Angel Betrayed) you will love Angel In Chains. I sure hope there are more Fallen books to come because I can’t seem to get enough of these Fallen Angels!

Angel in Chains is hands down the most intense book in The Fallen series. It seemed that at every turn something completely unexpected blindsided me. My jaw stayed on the floor. I devoured Azrael and Jade’s book in one sitting. I could not put the book down. The action is nonstop. There is an abundant amount of insane fight scenes.
It has been six months since Azrael fell. He is still struggling with his newly found emotions. He has some big objectives though. The most prominent is get redemption, thus get back into Heaven. Az has become an opportunistic Fallen. He knows opportunity when he sees it and witnessing a woman being pursued and assaulted by a group of shifters. He sees helping Jade as his fast pass to get his wings back.
Jade has a psycho stalker shifter for an ex. He just won’t give up. She has been running from the sociopath for ten years. He finds her and terrorizes her over and over again. Jade has become a resourceful gal though. She always has a backup plan and has managed to evade him for some time. The smart girl that she is knows when a perfect opportunity falls into her lap. Jade immediately notices that Az is perhaps powerful enough to make her ex stay down.
Az and Jade are all around explosive. They throw sparks as soon as they are together. Jade soon moves from redemption to temptation. Az wants and desires for the first time in his very long life. Jade is beginning to get a taste of freedom. Their passions run high constantly. I loved these two together. They are so well matched. Jade tempers some of the errant emotions that Az is experiencing and not knowing how to deal with. Jade also rouses some of his newly found emotions. She keeps him on his toes. I just loved their interactions.
As with the other books in The Fallen series Angel in Chains can work as a stand-alone. I do think that readers would get more out of this installment in the series by reading the others beforehand though. Azrael has a more than minor, but not a major role in the previous two books. I think that reading him in those books would give a bit of insight into him prior to reading his book. He begins the series as an almost villain and not a nice guy. None the less, anyone could jump into this series with this book though and not be lost or confused.
